SDOTA Committees

  • Bylaws Policies & Procedures
    The Bylaws, Policies, & Procedures Committee provides guidelines for making revisions, additions, and changes to the Bylaws, Policies, and Procedures of the Association. This committee ensures there is continuity between all of the documents of the Association. 

  • Continuing Education

The committee facilitates professional development of the membership through planning continuing education and networking opportunities for SDOTA members.
  • Advocacy

    The Advocacy Committee informs members of current and pending local, state and national legislation pertinent to occupational therapy to include coordination with the lobbyist during the state legislative session. The committee increases the public awareness of occupational therapy throughout South Dakota by supporting and coordinating public relations activities. The committee solicits and disseminates information on reimbursement issues occurring at the state and national level.
  • Communications

The Communications Committee disseminates pertinent information to members of the Association. This includes but is not limited to, managing creating flyers, sending emails with updates, posting on social media platforms to share about SDOTA events, managing incoming email inquires, and making website updates.
  • Membership

The membership committee coordinates the application and re-application process for members of SDOTA. This committee is responsible for ongoing membership recruitment, welcoming new members, and maintaining the membership database.
